Novo Nordisk Field Safety Notice  -  NovoPen Echo and NovoPen 5

Novo Nordisk A/S has detected that the insulin cartridge holder used in a number of NovoPen Echo and NovoPen 5 batches may crack or break if exposed to certain chemicals in some household products, such as cleaning agent, sunscreen and food grease.  Certain batches are affected and patients are advised to the NovoNordisk Customer Care Line on 0845 600 5055 to check their device and/or to request a replacement.

Phone and Surgery Hours
The surgery phone lines will be open from 8.00am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday.
The surgery opening hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 8.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 6.30pm. 

New Appointment System

calendarWe have recently reviewed our appointment system and as a result we are changing the way that you can access different types of appointments.

Routine Appointments:

You will now be able to book a routine appointment with any of our available doctors up to 4 weeks in advance. These will be a combination of conventional 10 minute face-to-face appointments and telephone appointments for your convenience. Telephone appointments should be considered for conditions that do not need to be physically examined in the first instance and are a convenient way to access the doctor without having to come to the Practice. They are an additional way of deciding the best clinical care plan with you.

*A number of these appointments will also be available for you to book on-line.
*Patients must pre-register at reception to enable them to use the on-line services.
 

Acute Appointments & Home Visits:

Acute appointments are for patients who need to be seen on the same day. For acute appointments and home visit requests there will be a different doctor on-call every day. The appointment will be initially dealt with by a telephone triage appointment. The doctor will call you back to discuss your condition and if they cannot deal with your request over the phone they will book you a face-to-face appointment in the next available appointment slot. Patients who access this type of appointment will not be offered a choice of doctor, however when we are dealing with home visit requests we will try, where possible to allocate your visit to your usual doctor if they are available. You may see any doctor, not just the one with whom you are registered.

our doctors more easily. We will continually review our appointment system to ensure that it fulfills the clinical requirements of our Practice population.
